Fr Kenson was baptised at the age of 14 after his family went through two years of instruction with a priest. While in junior college, one particular Sunday, after receiving Holy Communion, he felt a peace that he had never felt before and heard these three words - "Come, follow Me'. He knew that God was calling him but had no idea what God was calling him to. In university, he journeyed with Fr Barthoulot to discern the priesthood. After going through a vocation camp in the seminary, he gave his "YES' to God.
Fr Kenson was ordained on 25 July 1995 and served in Nativity Church from 1995 - 2000. He left for his studies and obtained a licentiate in Missiology at the Pontifical Urban University (Rome) in 2004. After returning from his studies, he served as the Vice-Rector of St Francis Xavier Major Seminary from 2005 - 2015. He was sent to the Church of the Holy Trinity to serve as an Assistant Priest from 2015-2017. On 23rd April 2017, he was appointed as Parish Priest of Nativity Church.
Fr Kenson is also the Spiritual Director for Catholic Aids Response Efforts (CARE) and is a lecturer at the Catholic Theological Institute of Singapore (CTIS).
Father Alphonsus had a stirring in his heart at a young age at 8 years old. As he looked at the priest celebrating mass at the sanctuary, he felt he wanted to be like him.

After graduation, he worked in a couple of graphic design agencies and thereafter became lecturer in Graphic and Advertising Design in a local institution. Soon after he set up his own firm in Graphics and Advertising.
After many years of experiences of God’s love for him and the circumstances of life that lead him to his priestly calling. He then gave up his company and entered to Seminary in 2004 at the age of 29.
